Apple Store

March 8, 2010

The Apple Store no longer repairs PowerMac's G4 and older. So if you need help with your older Apple computers, give Mike the MacTech a call at 520.990.9642.

Was Steve Jobs at the Oscars? Must have been a Pixar mandatory event.

Apple Care

I am not one of those people who believes I need to buy an extended warranty for every electronic device I buy. However when it comes to Apple Computers like the iMac, MacPro, MacBook, and MacBook Pro, it is in your and your wallet's best interest to buy the Apple Care Warranty. You have the complete protection you need to continue using your computer for at least 3 years without the worry of an expensive repair. Remember batteries are not covered under the Apple Care EXTENDED Warranty.

Also if you are not going to keep the computer for the full three years, make sure you trade it or sell it before the Apple Care Warranty expires. That way the new owner will have some protection until the Warranty Expires.

Michael

TurboTax for Mac 2008

If you own a PowerMac G4 Apple Computer, there appears to be a bug in TurboTax 2008. I have tried to use it on three different model PowerMac G4 machines and it crashed each time I tried to create a new file. It did not crash on three Intel Chip Apple Computers.

Doing taxes just got more frustrating for some of us :-(.

Mac OS X Tip

Do you need to take a screen shot of your Desktop? Here is the key combination.

Press and hold the Shift Key + Command (Apple) Key, while holding those keys press the number 3. Shift+Command then press number 3. This will create a .png file on your Desktop.

Have a great day.

New MacBook Pro 17 inch (Apple News)

Apple has delayed shipment of their new MacBook Pro 17 inch laptop. According to Apple sources they needed a little more time to finish up with the laptop. The laptops should be shipping sometime in the middle of February 2009.

For those of you who do not want the new glossy screen. Apple has an $50 option for an anti-glare display.

Best regards,
Michael
