However when it comes to Apple Computers like the iMac, MacPro, MacBook, and MacBook Pro, it is in your and your wallet's best interest to buy the Apple Care Warranty. You have the complete protection you need to continue using your computer for at least 3 years without the worry of an expensive repair. Remember batteries are not covered under the Apple Care EXTENDED Warranty.

Also if you are not going to keep the computer for the full three years, make sure you trade it or sell it before the Apple Care Warranty expires. That way the new owner will have some protection until the Warranty Expires.

Best regards,

MichaelMike The Mactechhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00814660397387321068noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4143209134734852235.post-44497870143828141542009-02-21T07:37:00.000-08:002009-02-21T07:41:34.313-08:00TurboTax for Mac 2008If you own a PowerMac G4 Apple Computer, there appears to be a bug in TurboTax 2008. I have tried to use it on three different model PowerMac G4 machines and it crashed each time I tried to create a new file. It did not crash on three Intel Chip Apple Computers.

Doing taxes just got more frustrating for some of us :-(.

Best regards,

MichaelMike The Mactechhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00814660397387321068noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4143209134734852235.post-39392795400826261382009-02-14T10:31:00.000-08:002009-02-14T10:32:37.586-08:00Apple Warranty StatusTo check the warranty status of your Apple Computer go to:

https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

Best regards

MichaelMike The Mactechhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00814660397387321068noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4143209134734852235.post-21496027785295843572009-02-11T01:26:00.000-08:002009-02-11T01:30:49.871-08:00Mac OS X TipDo you need to take a screen shot of your Desktop? According to Apple sources they needed a little more time to finish up with the laptop. The laptops should be shipping sometime in the middle of February 2009.

For those of you who do not want the new glossy screen. Apple has an $50 option for an anti-glare display.

Best regards,
MichaelMike The Mactechhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00814660397387321068noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4143209134734852235.post-53249269328545147892009-02-04T09:02:00.000-08:002009-02-04T09:08:15.072-08:00Apple WarrantyI went to the Apple Store the other day and they told me that if someone has a part replaced in a computer that is not under warranty; the part will only have a 90 day warranty. One of my clients had a hard drive replaced in March 2008. The hard drive failed in Februay 2009, but is no longer under warranty because he got it from Apple. If the client bought the drive from Best Buy or Office Depot, it would still be under warranty. Apple should revisit their warranty policy, because what good is a 90 day warranty for a $900 part repair?

What do you think?

Best regards,
MichaelMike The Mactechhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00814660397387321068noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4143209134734852235.post-86255362609013867972009-02-03T10:48:00.000-08:002009-02-03T11:42:31.242-08:00Welcome to the Mike the MacTech BlogI would like to welcome everyone to the Mike the Mactech Blog.
