Apple Warranty

I went to the Apple Store the other day and they told me that if someone has a part replaced in a computer that is not under warranty; the part will only have a 90 day warranty. One of my clients had a hard drive replaced in March 2008. The hard drive failed in Februay 2009, but is no longer under warranty because he got it from Apple. If the client bought the drive from Best Buy or Office Depot, it would still be under warranty. Apple should revisit their warranty policy, because what good is a 90 day warranty for a $900 part repair?

What do you think?

Best regards,
Michael
